The Google Page Rank Update Has Happened

It took over 6 months to happen but finally the latest Google Page Rank update has arrived.

This site has gone from Page Rank 0 to Page Rank 2.

The Personal Injury Lawyer where I work has jumped from 2 to PR4.

Has anyone else had a Page Rank update?

I have to agree. Good article. Keep it up ;)

  3. Most of the directories PR dpoped in this google PR.

  4. Our new website also had its PR rank. Is not it the best feeling ever to see some green on that tool bar. A beautiful start to more things to come.

Nearly all my strong sites which have high levels of traffic and income have decreased in PR although there good SERP rankings have stayed the same. Whereas a couple of my weak blogspot blogs which have links with DMOZ and Jayde only have jumped to PR6 and 7 even though they have poor SERP rankings and make little money. This just emphasizes the inconsistencies in the algorithims for google page rank.

  6. I really don’t think Google Page Rank matters that much. People are mostly obsessed for no reason IMHO.

  7. Well done Simon, thats good news….

My site got a PR1 :) Nothing major, but I havent really touched it yet, I’m trying to update it now

  8. Chris says:

I got PR4 from zero, nothing special though. Getting PR5 and above is a little tougher

Google done another PR toolbar update on 12th January 2008. I think the hype has died down on pr updates as less blogs are posting about it.

PR as seen from the toolbar is outdated since PR is actually updated everyday. As webmasters we really should not bothered much about the toolbar PR as it does not determine traffic. What we want is keyword rankings, and an increasing PR is a result of a keyword ranking campaign.

The only usage for toolbar PR is to sell text links, other advertisements, and gaining link partners. Though when caught selling links the PR would go down anyway!

  12. One of my sites went from 0 to 4! Yeehaw!

  13. Alex Liu says:

Congratulations. Same here. My blog has gone from 0 to PR2 too.

Climbing the few few rungs of the page rank ladder is relatively easy but the process gets harder and harder as you climb up. The reason for this I believe is that the differences between the steps in the PR levels are not linear but something closer to logarithmic. I read some info on this a while back which explains it in more detail but dont have the reference handy.

I went from “Not indexed” to PagrRank 0!!! What a great start for my little enterprise. I also can’t wait for the headline. “Matt Cutts taken hostage: Kidnapper demanding PR 9 for their homepage and Pagerank 9 for all the sub-pages.”

  16. Another Google update happen on begging of January, and next I suppose will be in begging of April. Hope my website will get highr pagerank:)

  17. AntiVirus says:

this is one of the worse PR update that i have ever experience

    that worse ever, period

  18. umer says:

this is the worse pagerank update I ever have…..
my 3 blogs gone from pr4 to pr3. and my site that I predicted pr5, just become pr3
    so sad for me…..

  19. I still got a PR 4 after 2 years. My website is small and I have at most 100 customers. I’m looking forward to a PR of 5, but don’t know if or when this will happen :-)

  20. I forgot to mention that after linking together 3 of my other PR 0 sites with this domain gave a nice PR 3 after about 2 months :-) This are small niche websites and does not have many webpages.

I only do ethical SEO – and do not buy links!

yes, i think google have this one. i think it’s could “site analytics”. with this, your blog or pages of site will be rate according to how many visitors views your site.
