A friend of mine runs a letting agents in Southampton, they deal with renting flats and houses for landlords to prospective tenants.
He has recently boosted his profile in Southampton by having his office front re-designed and also having his new Honda Civic signwritten in the company colours.
Every time I am in Southampton I see his honda civic car whizzing round promoting his letting agency, not that you can miss him…
With Southampton being such a vibrant, busy city I can’t help but take my hat off to him.
It is such a simple, cheap and very effective way of marketing a business making people aware of your brand, I really think he has hit the jackpot with this smart advertising idea.

that’s one nice way to advertise… wherever he goes he will be able to advertise his business. Great idea…
I’ve seen several businesses that already putting signs to their cars and delivery trucks and it is really a great idea… it’s like a free advertisement while you are driving your car or delivering your goods…
I was thinking about doing this for a while and looked into car wraps. The problem is that there are issues with insurance when you do this. When people see a huge sign on the side of your car they think, oh hey, there are deep pockets somewhere when they get in an accident.
In the long run I didn’t want to have my business involved in any personal accidents that might happen. Even if it is a long shot.
Tremendous marketing idea. We’ve been considering using that type of advertising as a strong, low cost alternative. Anyone have an idea as to the ROI or effectiveness?
Thanks for the feedback guys, nice to see my efforts do pay off.

Yes, what would be the ROI on that? Car wraps are becoming used more often along with window ads and bumper stickers. I like the idea of giving bumperstickers to all you customers and seeing how many will actually use it.
I thought about doing that, but my wife won’t let me paint NorCaCars all over the mini Van.
It can get quite distracting though to other drivers. Its a good idea to advertise like that, but im worried its going to distract other drivers and cause accidents.
This is a very good idea for advertisement, wherever the vehicle goes its publishes the advertise. It is one of the best alternative to save ur money.
There are a lot of cars and SUVs in California now that have these ads on them. In fact, there are marketing companies paying other people to put these wraps on their cars. You have to have the right kind of car, though, travel so many miles to all the right places in order to get a wrap and receive a monthly payment.
Very good marketing. Sometimes the unusual is what stands out. That car probably is more memorable and noticable than a 2,000.00 per month billboard in downtown.
Has anyone here that reads this page (I’m subscribing now that I’m leaving this), used car advertising to promote your website?
Any methods outside of internet marketing to promote your site?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks,
Lee
Car advertisements are becoming increasingly popular. Several companies even have their own fleet of cars with their brand fully visible, just look at Redbull and their Mini Coopers that are decked out with a huge can of redbull on the roof.
Some companies will even pay you to put their ads on your car. A lot of auto shops and sound system companies will even give you a discount if you agree to put one of their logos or decals on your car. This all goes to show that advertising on cars is not a fad and is only going to increase in future years as cars represent a great space for advertising.

I feel like advertisements are all around us anymore but when you see ads placed in such a unique manner they feel less invasive than usual. With an ad like this, you are more likely to look at it then the tradional billboard that you pass by on the freeway every day.
Well, that is one way people could advertise for free. But there are also dangers in using your own car as a form of advertising. It could be a cause of accident. Instead of drivers focusing on the road, they could be distracted on the cars ad. Though the chances for this is slim, there is still that risk
I had the car sign written, very nice. The thing stands out a mile. However the only problem i now have is trying to hide the bloody thing when I want a skive.
No matter were I hide the wife still says “you have been at” … again.
Good Idea buy it can have some drawbacks.

Nice bit of distinctive local branding. Would not be surprised that business seriously picked up after this kind of promotion, but like you say, TSWComsat, a bit tough to sneak off for a bit!
I have seen a lot of people with little magnets on the side or the back window. Now I am starting to see car wraps and now they are becoming more popular.
I also think this is such a good idea I have asked my secretary to get me some prices and do both of our cars mine and my wifes that is not my secretarys I wander at doing my caravan for next summer anyone have any thoughts on that.
I also agree with Jerad, does your friend insured his Honda Civic . If not he must do it. It is a risk factor.
A freiend of mine drives a sports car but has a huge advert along both sides of the car, it works because people do not expect to see an advert on a sports car. He gets a lot of work from the advert on his car
Definitely a great form of advertising. Another great thing is to give out free things. People will line up for free stuff, just give out pens, mugs, anything cheap that you can throw your name on.
That is a very creative method to advertise. Mobile advertising is definitely on the rise.
Great way to advertise also helps that it’s a civic too
Thx for the valuable information.
Its a great & innovative idea.
Nice idea! I might have to try it out some time, when I get the money.
