I recently found this list of the top 100 rock songs of all time, all the rock songs listed are all pre 1990, in fact nearly all the songs are from the 1960’s and 1970, so it is more like a list of the top 100 rock classics.

Not sure I totally agree that this is the definitive list of the top 100 rock songs of all time, as I say it is more like a retro songs list. Personally I would have included some of the modern greats, for example bands like the Foo Fighters, Muse, Nirvana, Radiohead, Nickelback, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day and Pearl Jam all should have songs in the top 100 all time list.

Still it’s a good list of 100 great rock songs and provides some nice suggestions if you are looking for ideas of classic rock songs to put on your iPod, iPhone or MP3 player.
